VCs Doubling Down on P2E Games on Solana
Solana based Play to Earn (P2E) GameFi project, Nyan Heroes, announced the closure of their $2.5 million early stage seed round on Nov. 3, via a Twitter post.
The funding round was led by Three Arrows Capital, Mechanism Capital and DeFiance Capital. The project has alco received additional strategic backing from prominent venture capital (VC) firms like Sino Global Capital, Infinity Ventures Capital, Solana Ventures, Skydivisio Capital, Yield Guild Games and Merit Circle. The list of angle investors also include Kevin Lin from Twitch, Thomas Vu from Riot Games, Jihan Wu from Matrixport, Darren Lau from The Daily Ape and MrBlock.
“We would like to thank our investors and advisors for their continued support as we strive to create an immersive, feature rich high quality gameplay experience — built on the back of a P2E economic model that is designed for long-term sustainability. Our vision is to fundamentally change the way that current P2E is done, and provide an architecture that future projects can use and build upon to ensure the continued growth and success of blockchain gaming as a whole,” stated Nyan Heroes in a Medium blog post.
The Solana ecosystem is growing at an extremely rapid pace. On Nov. 4, the native token of the network, SOL, hit a new all-time high of $250.47 as per data from CoinMarketCap. The token has now flipped the most utilized stablecoin, Tether (USDT), to land 4th place on CoinMarketCap’s top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.

Nyan Heroes is a P2E NFT based game that is built on the Solana blockchain network as a part of the growing metaverse. In the game, players will be able to collect Nyans (Cats) and their Guardian Robots as NFTs. These heroes can then be used to battle other players in a shooter-style action game. Along with the announcement of the closure of the early-stage funding round, the project also declared that they would be holding a public sale on Nov. 8 at 05:00 PM UTC.
