Cross-Platform Collaboration
Star Atlas will be partnering with The Sandbox in a bid to revolutionize GameFi interoperability between Ethereum and Solana.
A press release from Star Atlas on April 27 stated that the relationship between the two metaverse environments begins with the Star Atlas VoxEdit contest which opens for submissions on May 2 and runs until May 15. The contest will see users adopt the role of ‘envoy’, embarking from The Sandbox to one of the main galactic factions on the Star Atlas metaverse. The ‘Envoys’ will then create a findings report by designing a portrait of one of the fiction’s inhabitants using The Sandbox’s free VoxEdit software. Winners will be chosen by both projects with the top four splitting 50,000 SAND, which is just over $100,000, at the time of writing.

The collaborative initiative may be a signal of things to come as the broader space begins to understand the benefits of allowing users to roam from one chain to the other. Wagner’s recognition of this being the first of many cross-platform integrations to come sets the tone.
Star Atlas has seen significant success this year, with the organization introducing a range of NFT products to market, including playable spaceships, that have generated around $200 million in revenue to date. The Sandbox has also seen its metaverse lead the GameFi sector, as well as securing over 200 partnerships with the likes of Adidas, Gucci and HSBC.
