Solana Announces the Winners of Ignition Hackathon

The network’s fourth edition of the hackathon now has its winners, handpicked by an esteemed panel of judges to win prizes worth $5 million and more.

Solana Labs announced all the winners of the Ignition hackathon, which attracted over 6,000 participants and led to 568 final projects submissions, on Oct. 29 via a Twitter thread.

Ignition has been the most successful edition of Solana’s hackathon. The grand prize award winner was Katana, an asset management protocol building investment products across the risk spectrum. They will receive a prize of $75,000 out of the $5 million prize pool and two tickets to the Solana Conference.

“The Solana ecosystem experienced amazing growth over this past year, and the IGNITION hackathon has been an exciting showcase of some of the best teams building in blockchain. We are thrilled to have these incredible projects building on Solana and look forward to seeing them evolve,” stated Anatoly Yakovenko, CEO of Solana Labs, in the official statement that announced the winners on the protocol’s official website on Oct. 29.

As previously reported by Solana News, the rest of the winners are chosen from each of the prize “tracks,” namely, Web3, DeFi, Gaming and, Art & Collectibles. The tracks were judged by eminent personalities who are experts in the respective tracks in which they are part of the panel. 

Some of these judges are Sam-Bankman Fried, the CEO of FTX Exchange and Alameda Research; Suresh Pagadala, Vice-president at Standard Chartered Bank, 0xMaxi, Lead Contributor at SushiSwap; and various other significant personalities.
