Top Honor in the Solana Community
Solana has announced the commencement of nominations for the Squid Prize yet again on Dec. 4.
The Squid Prize is one of the highest honors that a community member can earn via participating in the community actively and making a positive impact. The winner of the Dec. 2021 prize will be rewarded with $20,000 USDC-SPL and will be passed on the unique Squid Prize NFT. The Squid Prize is named after the first-ever winner, @fordudesake, for his immense contributions to the Solana community. The nomination window will remain open till Dec. 17th.

The Squid Prize is named after its first winner, the illustrious @fordudesake, for their contributions to the community,” tweeted the network’s official Twitter handle about the prize.
The network’s native token, SOL, has come under the wrath of the market-wide crypto price flash crash on Dec. 4. While the token has held its stead as the 5th most prominent cryptocurrency by market capitalization, it currently trades at $197.40, 16.35% lower than 24 hours ago, as per data from CoinMarketCap. SOL currently had a circulating market cap of $60.23 billion.
