“Deep in the heart of Dingus Forest echoes the sleepless cries of a troop of 10000 apes. These aren’t just regular apes, however. These are degenerate apes.”

Andrew (BSC.News)
Haha no we’re happy that you’re here with us
But wow in crypto terms that’s a pretty big team
Monoliff
haha just getting started
Andrew (BSC.News)
That’s what we like to hear
2. For those who may be unfamiliar, can you tell us what are Degen Apes and how has your project impacted the Solana NFT space?
Monoliff
Degenerate Ape Academy is an NFT brand on the Solana Blockchain. Aside from the obvious, it’s not really up to us to tell you what degen apes are, they are different things to different people. This is the beauty of having such a community focused product.
It’s hard to know the true effects we’ve had on the NFT scene on SOL and to be honest we don’t really care, we’ve got plenty to do before we can claim that we’ve achieved what we want to. But there’s a graph lying around of what happened after our launch lol go check it if you want.
Andrew (BSC.News)
That’s awesome haha
So to touch more on that actually…
3. Prior to launch of your project, did you anticipate that Degen Apes would gain the amount of attention that it has? What was you and your teams reaction when you saw that Apes were being traded at 200+SOL?
Monoliff
Yes and no. I could tell there was interest pre-mint but wasn’t quite aware of exactly how much – before our launch other projects were taking 12 – 24 hours to mint out. We were the original shit launch but only because of being completely ignorant to how big that wave was – 2 minutes to mint out at the time was unheard of. Other teams have no excuse for botched launches after they saw what happened with ours lol
I have no reaction to seeing what the apes are trading at to be honest. Like I said, we are far from achieving what we want to. Outside of building a quality product, brand and community everything else is just noise for now.
Andrew (BSC.News)
Yeah and I remember the day that you guys launched
Monoliff
Its hard to forget
Andrew (BSC.News)
To be honest I had no clue it would sell out that fast either. I had a couple of friends calling to tell me to be ready for mint and I logged on probably 2 minutes too late
But in the grand scheme of things it was amazing
So from the way you answer these questions, you guys are no doubt very humble
Monoliff
I mean the whole thing was a shit show – but it was an unprecedented shit show
Andrew (BSC.News)
Awesome
So for this questions
4. According to Solanart, the floor price of your NFTs is currently 65 SOL with a total volume of 962K SOL traded on Solanart alone, what do you credit to this massive success?
Andrew (BSC.News)
Haha and I know you just said you don’t keep track of the price but I had to do some research
Monoliff
Sick art. No but seriously this is a credit to the community. If you believe in something and others join you in that belief, you’re unstoppable. No matter what it is. Our community believes in the brand, and it seems more and more are joining them in that belief. And I don’t blame them. Our focus is to build, then grow, then rinse and repeat. Skys the limit at this point.
Andrew (BSC.News)
So while on the topic of growing and building on top of the massive success you have already seen
5. With so much already accomplished in little time, how do you and your team incentivize yourselves to constantly improve and push forward?
Monoliff
Good question
Drugs. Actually that’s partially true, coming up with ideas for expansion/growing the brand really is a drug. And making inroads to making that expansion a reality, on the daily, is just feeding the drug habit. Ive also never been one for getting complacent, i’m never happy with what ive done and never like looking back. This sounds like some stupid motivational bullshit but I feel like im constantly competing with what I did last week all the time and feel like the team I have around me is the same.
Andrew (BSC.News)
No I don’t see it like that
We’re in a space that is constantly evolving and improving off others mistakes
So the only way to keep going would be to do exactly what you are doing where you put your best work in everyday
Monoliff
Yeah i feel like that is true of any industry tbh – improving off your own mistakes is the most crucial though
Andrew (BSC.News)
Right
Well thanks for that answer
6. The success of an NFT project relies heavily on the developers/core team’s vision for longevity, the community’s support, and blue chip NFT holders. Please tell us about how each of these three aspects resonates in your project.
Monoliff
I feel like i’ve talked about our core team’s motivations enough in the previous answer. We are here, we are building and growing and we aint going anywhere. The real success metric really is in the community. Communities across NFTs hold teams accountable and are the true litmus test of whether or not said team is performing. In this regard the community really is everything, if you are confident that what you are building is solid and adds real value to your holders, then you have little to worry about. In regards to the ‘blue chip’ portion of the question, only time will tell who the true blue chips are, and none of us have been around long enough to determine this yet. Let’s put in the work, then we can chat.
Andrew (BSC.News)
Great answer
7. Can you tell us more about your roadmap and what you are currently most excited about?
Monoliff
Simply put, i’m excited about evolving. The ‘degeniverse expansion’ is just a cute way of saying IP and community growth. We are partnering with a new team, a team I trust a-lot and who have big plans to further the ‘Degenerate’ IP. It’s also just been fucking relieving getting back into art again, and I cant wait for our holders to see what we have in-store for them.
With this expansion will come a wave of new community members. It will be a 20k supply, half going to ape holders 1:1 and the other half will be a fresh mint. New community members means a stronger degenerate voice and so on and so forth.
After all the speculation I can confirm they are called ‘Degenerate Trash Pandas’ – more info and an art preview will be out in the coming days. Stay tuned, get excited.
Andrew (BSC.News)
Nice super exciting
So last but not least
And im not sure if you have any more but I have to ask just in case
8. Do you have any exciting news you would like to announce here today?
Monoliff
Im pregnant! No but seriously, i’ll leave the excitement to the art and project release we will be dropping on the DAA twitter in the next few days, hoping to blow some socks off.
Andrew (BSC.News)
Hahaha you’re too funny
But yeah we’re ready!
Monoliff
Hell yeah, lets go
WOOO!
Andrew (BSC.News)
But Monoliff, thank you so much for taking the time to join us today
Was really awesome having you here. You guys are doing great work
Monoliff
No thank you for hosting me! And thanks for your kind words, very excited about whats to come in the future. And to all the apes out there – massive love ❤️
