Joah: Yes I am
Q1: Now to start the AMA, please have a quick introduction to the community. What is Aldrin about?
Joah: Aldrin will replace traditional banking. In order to do so we need to appeal to a core target first. That is why we have started with building a Solana DEX that is built for pro traders but we also made it simple enough that anyone could use. Much more functionality than a typical DEX but not so complex that it would scare some away. We are now launching our Pools. It will be the first to be audited on Solana and in the next few months we will launch a CEX as well.
Q2: Please share with us the background of the team behind this project. What are your past experiences?
Joah: Our CEO comes from Bloomberg in product development. He has a ton of experience in taking complex functions and making them as simple as possible to use.
Me, the CMO, have helped place many brands in 1st place of their industry; Dove soap, Corona beer, Domino’s Pizza & Airbnb to name a few.
Our CTO, is a veteran that has been programming blockchains since the early start of crypto.
Q3: What are some of the real-world problems that Aldrin aims to solve?
Joah: Currently there is not a single DEX on any blockchain that is really built for serious traders. Many times, they are simply swaps, some have now added charts, very few have order books and none expect us to have smart trading tools, like the rebalancer for example.
Q4: Why did you choose the Solana blockchain? Is the platform suitable for crypto beginners?
Joah: Good trading is about information, cost and speed. Solana provides us will low latency, high number of transactions and low cost. It really was the perfect blockchain for financial services. Almost all DEX users came from CEXs first. Our interface is very familiar to them, so we lower the learning curve to using a DEX.
Q5: Let’s dive into your token $RIN. Can you share with us your tokenomics? What are the use cases? Does it get audited?
Joah: Our market cap is at $20M but also only officially launched on August 15th, when you look at Raydium at $800m and we have higher functionality, the first audited AMM and an upcoming CEX, you can see why we see a bright future.
Q6: Who are the current investors? How is the community involved? What are the different roles it plays?
Joah: Alameda Research, Master Ventures, Banter Capital is recent from CryptoBanter show, Alphabit, Protocol Ventures, Rarestone, GBIC, and Fomocraft.
Well as you know Alameda owns FTX and Serum. This has helped partner with Serum for liquidity.
We also partnered with Binance for our CEX.
The community is everything. Without community you don’t have progress. They have been amazing.
Q7: What problems do you face when doing marketing for a crypto project?
Joah: I’m loving it. It has automatic feedback. We do marketing and you see the result immediately. We ended September as the best-performing DEX on Solana. We have retracted some but that is normal because I am ramping up a big push in marketing in 1 week and that took some planning. As for what I find difficult, we don’t have as many channels as we can use but it forces me to get creative which is a strong suit of mine.
