Fun team and a fun project are ready to drop another collection of dope NFTs on Solana.
Angomon Making Yeezy and Takashi Proud
Solana News hosted the creators of the soon-to-be-released Angoman NFT project in a brief Twitter Spaces AMA on November 18th at 17:00 UTC. The Angomon project is set for its first mint on November 20th at 18:00 UTC for 0.5 SOL, or $95 USD.
Host Andrew chatted with lead creative director Ricky, also known as Joi within the Angoverse. Joi is joined in the project by longtime friend and lead developer Buddy, and Tefri, who assist in 3D design. The team was birthed together by university students interested in global pop culture icons like hip-hip mogul Kanye West and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.
“We wanted to create new characters for NFTs that were not just your typical robots or animals. We all have a love for pop culture and the fashion style of Yeezy, as well as the influence from Takashi,” said Joi when asked about the origins of the project. “We are proud of our influences, but we don’t wanna rip people off––we believe all the Angomen are unique in their own way.”
Joi also detailed the inspiration behind the name, Angomon, explaining that it derives from the combining ango, Japanese word for peaceful dwelling, and the suffix –mon, in reference to famous creative monsters likes Pokemon. Peaceful monsters.
The Angomon team has plans to make these peaceful monsters into more than just digital assets. Talk of physical 3D printed Angomon maquettes, minigames, and even listening parties in the Angoverse, are just a couple of the ideas being thrown around at this time. The team at Angomon expects to grow their team to more than three university friends before going much bigger.
“Not that we lack that skills to take on these new ideas––between us three we’ve found we can do pretty much anything together so far. In order to accelerate, we’ll have to look more into that,” Joi confirmed.
Again, the first mint for the cool Angomon NFTs is Saturday, November 20th at 18:00 UTC. Limit 1 per whitelist wallet, and after that free for all.
What is Angomon
Angomon is a collection of 3,500 aesthetic monsters with proof of ownership stored on the Solana blockchain. Each Angomon is a unique piece of cryptography and design that will later become alive in the Angoverse. As every Angomon is created as a 3D-model they have a wide variety of exquisite use cases in the physical world as well.
